Site Civil Project Engineer

The Raleigh Corporate Office has an immediate opening for a Project Engineer within its Site/Civil Practice.  The successful candidate will be a civil engineer with a strong background in successfully completing site development, water, wastewater and stormwater projects for public/private clients.   

Responsibilities will include:

  • Technical and design services in support of site development projects (i.e., site grading, roadway design, erosion control design, hydrologic/hydraulic analysis, stormwater management plan design and water/wastewater systems)
  • Conducting preliminary evaluations and preparing reports
  • Permit preparation, design computations, code research, and specification writing
  • Preparation of preliminary and final cost estimates
  • Interaction with project managers, clients, and regulatory permitting agencies
  • Construction administration

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • B.S. Civil Engineering
  • NC Professional Engineer preferred (or ability to obtain through reciprocity)
  • 5-8 years’ experience in consulting engineering environment working on site development projects
  • Strong technical skills in design of site development, water, wastewater and/or stormwater utilities
  • Experience obtaining federal, state and local permits preferred
  • Hydraulic modeling skills a plus
  • Proficiency using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Good presentation and public speaking skills
  • Technically competent, a team player and good communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to successfully pass background check
