The Wooten Company provided complete engineering design services for this project, including plumbing and sprinkler, medical gas, HVAC, power and lighting, communications, security and life safety systems. The project was completed in two phases. Phase I was the addition of a 17,500 square foot emergency room facility connected to the existing emergency room. The new addition was complete with Trauma, Decontamination, Isolation, Fast Track and General Treatment areas, with a roof-mounted mechanical penthouse, and helicopter landing pad. All systems designed for Phase I were sized and arranged to accommodate Phase II work also. Phase II was a total renovation of the existing 7,600 square foot emergency room (which had remained in use during Phase I construction).
