Cummins RMEP Wastewater Collection Improvements
Overhaul of water and sewer system elements
Cummins RMEP desired to abandon THREE manholes, wastewater pump station, force main and screening system due to major deterioration of the structures and construct a new bypass manhole and gravity sewer (or rehabilitation of existing structures), new pump station, new force main and new wet well screening basket system prior to the existing aeration basins that will have secondary containment. The new pump station will be more “user friendly” for the operator, existing Tsurumi pumps were to be reutilized in the new pump station structure and the new pump station was tied in at the existing motor control center for the wastewater treatment facilities and provision for connection to the Building Management System will be added. The Wooten Company specified a fiberglass wet well to limit the size of the equipment required to install since the site was very confined.
