Clinton's Water System Study

Study Prepares Clinton For Important Water Improvements

The City of Clinton was looking to update its Capital Improvements Plan and assess the water system’s condition to provide the City with a long-term planning document.  The CIP intended to account for the City’s planned expansion of the water treatment plant from 1.5 MGD to 2.0 MGD, as well as future industrial water customers.  The Wooten Company performed a study that included computer modeling of the existing system to analyze its performance. Engineers took into account the City’s future water demands and the model was updated to provide a forecast so that long term needs could be analyzed. The recommended improvements were then modeled to gauge their effectiveness on system performance, more specifically related to system pressures, water age, and overall system supply.  The updated CIP quantified the costs of recommended improvements and developed a prioritized schedule for implementation.
