Cary's Terrington Pump Station and Force Main
Pump Station and Force Main Design Prepare Cary For Future Growth
The Town of Cary needed to provide sewer service to a new area within its Town limits, which would involve a new 225 GPM pump station, force main and gravity sewer, grinding/screening unit, pump and wetwell, odor control system, bypass pumping connection, primary and backup power system, pump control, and phone service. After analyzing alternatives and comparing them against the cost of construction, easement acquisition, capacity impacts, and downstream sewer and head conditions, our sewer line specialists provided design services that guided flow from the station into the existing gravity collection system. As an additional benefit, the pump station now has the ability to increase capacity to 300 GPM in the future. The $921,000 project was locally funded and construction was completed in September of 2010.
