<< Previous ProjectNext Project >> The Neuse Regional Water and Sewer Authority (NRWASA) will provide treated water
at wholesale rates to its eight (8) member entities (retail providers) within Lenoir and Pitt
Counties serving approximately 38,000 customers. Study portion of the project involved The transmission main project consists of approximately 38 miles of 42-inch through 30- inch mains extending from the 15 mgd regional water treatment plant on the Neuse River just west of Kinston, N.C. to the vicinity of just east of Ayden, N.C. in the Eastern Pine Water Corporation service area. The project will include an additional 33 miles of 8, 12 and 16-inch mains to deliver water at selected points within the eight member service areas. The project was modeled in Heastead Method WaterCAD, and encompassed 1,200 pipes, 38 elevated tanks, 64 well pumps, and 7 booster pumping stations. Finally, the regional delivery system will include three (3) 1.0 mg elevated tanks, seven (7) booster pumping stations, 18 pressure reducing valves and metering stations, and related appurtenances. The project cost is $58,000,000. Construction began in May 2006. |
