Project consisted of capturing water and wastewater system feature locations (GPS) and mapping (GIS) of those features for the City’s water and wastewater infrastructure. This project included creation of a geodatabase designed for implementation in the City’s asset management process. As-builts, design drawings, and plats were referenced to guide the field mapping and to identify attributes. Discrepancies in the existing data and field data were resolved through research and meetings with City staff. Over 3,300 features and their attributes were captured by GPS and imported into the geodatabase. The project included more than 85 miles of water and wastewater system pipeline. Wall maps were created for the office and field mapbooks were created for City crews to use in the field. The geodatabase also provides source data for the City’s IMS website hosted and maintained by The Wooten Company.
