The Town of Wingate, home to Wingate University, recently selected The Wooten Company to address water deficiencies and increase fire protection in an area of town serving the students, faculty and administration of the university. What appeared at first to be a simple water line replacement project grew into an installation of a county master water meter as well as street improvements associated with campus pedestrian enhancements. This is another example of Wooten engineers working side-by-side with town, university and county personnel to collaboratively identify and resolve critical infrastructure issues.

Wooten Building System Group to Provide Engineering Services for Innovative Cohousing Project (3.16.2012)

The Wooten Company will provide mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering expertise to Weinstein Friedlein Architects for the 38,000 square foot, 24-unit residential Durham Central Park Cohousing Community in downtownDurham. The four-story, co-housing condominiums will provide individuals, couples, and families a collaborative form of home-ownership that encourages a strong sense of community, social contact between residents, as well as private living space. The owners of the Durham Central Park Cohousing Community will share in decision making, common areas (including a dining room, kitchen, laundry, great room, meeting rooms, guest bedrooms, gardens, and rooftop patio), upkeep, and maintenance.

North Carolina State University selects Wooten for Elevator Modernization (3.2.12)

Wooten architects and engineers have been selected to modernize passenger and freight elevators in Daniels Hall, a dormitory for NC State students. Wooten elevator modernization expertise has been utilized for a number of facilities at NC State University, UNC- Wilmington and UNC-Greensboro, as well as for the Raleigh Housing Authority, and the NC Departments of Administration, Transportation and Health and Human Services.

City of Lumberton selects Wooten to Assist Non-Profit (3.02.12)

Wake County Housing and Community Revitalization Division selects Wooten for Elderly and Disabled Housing Program (3.2.12)

Wake County joins a growing list of “entitlement” communities that are turning to Wooten housing and community development professionals for technical assistance. The Elderly and Disabled Housing program will help low income elderly and disabled people stay in their homes by making modest repairs or retrofits to assist with mobility after hospital stays. Wooten is providing assistance with housing evaluations, preparation of work write ups, and contract administration.

Saint Augustine’s College CDC selects Wooten (02.03.12)

“Cisco plans to have RTP1 serve as a production backup for other Cisco global data centers, says company IT official Jim Cribari. It’s also a showcase of Cisco technology and implementation techniques for customers, and to prove that they do not need a separate physical facility for DR [Disaster Recovery].

‘It shows customers how to maximize their investment in DR and application development environments,’ Cribari says.”
